MY CALLING AND SPIRITUAL FORMATION
 
The One Who Calls You Is Faithful; He Will Also Do It
 
When I was a new Christian, the God of Abraham spoke to me prophetically. It was the first prophecy I ever received. It described what was going on in my life at the time, but it also confirmed my call to ministry. It gave me purpose and hope, all of which indicated that the God of the universe knew me and knew the potential growing inside of me. 
In these pages, I recount how God called me to the ministry and guided my spiritual formation. You will notice how He spoke to me at different junctures along the way. I don’t think it is an overstatement to say that the gift of prophecy has impacted my life more than anything else and continues to be a major source of inspiration to me all these years later. 
The words spoken in those early days not only gave me the encouragement I needed at the time, but it gave me the grace to actually do what He had called me to do. This is what I call the word of His grace, which became my life message.
When the apostle Paul said goodbye to the pastors on the beach near Ephesus, knowing he would never see them again, he commended them to God and to the word of His grace, which he knew was sufficient to see them through, doing in them all that needed to be done right to the end. Here is what he said, as taken from The Message:
“Now I'm turning you over to God, our marvelous God whose gracious Word can make you into what he wants you to be and give you everything you could possibly need in this community of holy friends.”(Acts 20:23)
 
That is my experience as well, and my ongoing testimony, and I trust my story will awaken in you an expectation that He will do the same in your life.
