The story about Joseph’s coat of many colors is well known. Movies and songs have been made about it. What is less known is that King David clothed his daughters with coats of many colors as well:
Now she had on a robe of many colors, for the king’s virgin daughters wore such apparel. (2 Samuel 13:18)
 
Prophetically speaking, I think this meant that as children of the king, they were also clothed with favor and with many hues of grace:
 
The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; Her clothing is woven with gold.
She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors; The virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You. With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought; They shall enter the King’s palace. (Psalm 45:13–15)
 
In this devotional, I want to help you see how our Heavenly Father has clothed us in much favor and great grace as well. Our coat is an outward symbol of an inward reality. The apostle Peter said,
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. (1 Peter 4:10)
