BUILDING WITH INTEGRITY
Perhaps one reason people prefer Amish and Mennonite made products is that they know they are getting products made with integrity. They strive to work with higher quality materials, methods, and measures. This comes from an inner honesty. They care about getting things right, whether anyone is looking or not. Customers benefit from this trait, knowing that their tables, chairs, and cabinets will last for generations and become modern heirlooms, compared to the stuff that is built to be replaced almost as soon as it is assembled.
For this study, we will explore how we can build integrity into our lives in a way that affects our daily lives. Let’s explore it in the following:
A Sense of Security. We are told that integrity will enable us to walk freely, with a greater peace and confidence:
He who walks with integrity walks securely. (Proverbs 10:9)
Our Guidance. We need to cultivate integrity in the area of guidance, helping us decide where to go and what to do: The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. (Proverbs 11:3)
Personal Protection. We are told that it will keep us spiritually safe, which is what we need for our families: Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You. (Psalm 25:21)
This study explores various aspects of integrity which show up in the home, happen in the workplace, and should be taught in every pulpit. It is an essential ingredient that is in high demand today. I trust these notes inspire you as you strive to cultivate integrity in all you do.
